Taking Care of Yourself: A Creative Workshop for Women

What does it really mean to ‘take care of yourself’?
As the community continues to experience the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic the need for positive outlets that center around restoration, connection and wellness will continue to be essential. Join licensed psychologist and educator Dr. Hannah da Cruz and designer/artist Rocio Sofia Ordonez as they present a creative, connection building and most of all, fun way to learn about the fundamentals of self care and the immediate impact on your well being.
This three hour workshop was developed for all self-identified female individuals. Dr. Hannah and Rocio Sofia are committed to this particular group, because the pandemic has been especially difficult on them; carrying the heavy load both inside and outside of the home. The purpose of this art-making workshop is to provide participants with a creative outlet to destress while sharing accessible mental health education. We will creatively explore the evidence-based essentials of self care including: personal connection, nourishment, fun and creativity, introspection, rest and relaxation, and physical movement.
In this workshop you will:
- Create an art project in an relaxing environment
- Gain awareness and deepen your understanding about the topic of self care including benefits and strategies
- Reflect on your self care routine with guided prompts
- Receive professional materials to start your new journey on prioritizing yourself!
